Online counselling means you’re not necessarily restricted to finding a therapist who is based near you. I have been offering online counselling for over 10 years. When I opened my practice in Amsterdam (prior to moving to Shoreham-by-Sea) my client base was quite transient - lots of Expats working in the Netherlands on short-term contracts, so when they returned home, they didn’t want to start their therapy again with someone new.
I offer online therapy via WhatsApp video.
I always encourage new clients to come into the office for their therapy if they are able to, but this isn’t always possible and online therapy is a great alternative.
To ensure you have the best experience in online therapy I recommend the following:
Make sure you have a room/space that is quiet and private for your session.
Make sure you have a stable base to put your phone/tablet/laptop on.
Treat the session the same as if you were coming into the office.
If there is anyone else in your house/office at the time of your session, make sure they know you shouldn’t be disturbed.
Use headphones for more privacy if needed.
Please be aware I only offer individual counselling online.
Couples counselling sessions are best taken in person.
